After you dissolve the jello in 1 cup of boiling water, the secret is to use a half cup of hard liquor (typically vodka) and a half cup of flavored liqueur (substituted for the 1 cup cold water per jello package directions). This will give a strong shot that doesn't taste too strong. Jello shots should be yummy (not something to make you pucker, right?) Triple sec is a good choice for the liqueur as it mixes well with many jello flavors, and gives a sweet/tart finish. Peach schnapps will make any shot taste more like candy. Perfect Jello Shots Recipe

1 cup boiling water*
½ cup vodka (or other hard liquor)
½ cup flavored liqueur/ schnapps/ pucker
1 small box jello (3 oz.)

Dissolve jello in 1 cup of boiling water. Remove from heat. Add the vodka and liqueur. Pour jello mixture in to your Jellinator, the Jello shot maker, and fill your shot cups. Refrigerate until set (2 hours). *Fruit juice can also be substituted for some or all of the hot water. Scroll to the

How many shots am I making?

  
 

1 small box of jello yields about 15 jello shots.
2 boxes (or 1 large 6 oz. box) yield 30 shots, which will fit nicely on a cooking sheet to transport them easily to the refrigerator.

How much booze should I buy?

  
 

1 fifth of vodka, one fifth of liqueur, and 6 boxes of jello yield 90-100 shots.

Egg Nog Jello Shots

1cup water
1 package Knox unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup sugar

1 cup eggnog
1/2-2/3 cup bourbon, rum, or brandy (depending on how strong you want them)

Sprinkle knox over water in a saucepan and let sit 3 minutes. Dissolve over low heat stirring constantly. Add sugar until dissolved. Remove from heat. Cool 15 minutes. Add eggnog and liquor. Sprinkle with nutmeg & chill 2 hours or until set. Yield: 20 shots.

Gingerbread Man Jello Shots

1 cup milk or half-and-half
1 1/2 envelopes knox gelatin
½ c. cake flavored vodka

1/2 c. Gingerbread liqueur (or mix
 buttershots & cinnamon schnapps)
Gingerbread marshmallows

Sprinkle gelatin over milk. Let sit a few minutes. Dissolve over low heat. Add liquors. Chill 30 min. Add marshmallows. Chill until set. Yield 15-20 shots.

Raspberry and blackberry fusion jello (1 box each) dissolved in 1 cup boiling water. Add 3 cups ready-to-drink watermelon margarita (with liquor). Chill. Garnish with blackberries. Yield: 30 shots

Dissolve 1 box strawberry jello in half cup boiling water. Add 11/2 cups champagne. Chill. Yield: 15 shots

Birthday Cake Jello Shots

2 c. Vess cream soda
2 tbsp. cream of coconut OR   sweetened condensed milk 

3/4 c. cake flavored vodka (or vanilla)         1/4 c. frangelico
1 1/2 envelopes Knox gelatin

Combine soda and cream/milk. Sprinkle with gelatin and let sit 3 min. Heat on low until dissolved (5 min). Add liquors. Chill. Yield: 22 shots.

Christmas Cosmo Jello Shots

Red layer: 3 oz. cranberry jello dissolved in 1 c. boiling water Add ½ c. vodka, ½ c. triple sec. Chill.

Green layer: 3 oz. lime jello dissolved in 1 c. boiling water Add ½ c. vodka, ½ c. triple sec. Cool before adding to red layer.

Yield: 35 shots.

Candy Corn Halloween Jello Shots

white layer: 1 envelope Knox gelatin, 1/2c. water, 1/2c. cream of coconut, 1/2 c. vanilla/cake/whipped vodka, 1/4 c. buttershots schnapps. Sprinkle knox over coconut and water and let sit a few min. Heat on low til dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in booze. Fill cups and chill 2 hours.

orange layer: 3oz. box orange jello dissolved in 1 cup boiling water. Remove from heat. Stir in 1/4c. cream of coconut, 1/2c. vanilla vodka, 1/4c. butterscotch schnapps. LET COOL before adding over the white layer. Chill until set.

yellow layer: 3oz. box pineapple jello dissolved in 1 c. boiling water. Remove from heat. Stir in 1/4c. cream of coconut, 1/2c. vanilla vodka,  and 1/4c. butterscotch schnapps. LET COOL then add on top of other layers and chill. Yield: 30 2oz. candy corn jello shots. Enjoy!

**RECIPE VARIATION: Rather than cooking 3 separate layers, triple the recipe for the white layer only. Divide this into thirds. Then tint one third yellow and one third orange.

Irish Whiskey Sour Jello Shots- St. Patrick's Day Jello Shots

Dissolve 1 box of lime jello and 1 box of lemon jello in 2 cups boiling water. Add 3/4 cup Irish Whiskey, 1/4 cup triple sec, and 1 cup water.

SHAMROCK Jello Shots- Green St. Patty's Day Jello Shots

1 box melon fusion jello dissolved in 1 cup boiling water. Add 1/2 cup tequila (or vodka), 1/2 cup Midori. Chill.

Skinny Margarita Jello Shots

Dissolve 1 box sugar-free lime jello in half cup boiling water. Add 11/2 cups ready-to-drink Skinny margarita. Chill. 

JAGER-BOMB JELLO SHOTS (black and gold)

‎8 oz. can redbull sprinkled with 1 envelope unflavored (knox) gelatin. Let sit 3 min, then heat on low until dissolved. Add ½ cup Jagermiester. Use your Jellinator to fill shot cups. Set shot cups at an angle in an egg carton and chill until set. Dissolve 1 box pineapple jello in ½ c. boiling water. Add ½ c. vodka. COOL before you add it to the Jager mixture. Enjoy!!

PINK MARGARITA JELLO SHOTS

2/3 cup silver tequila
1 cup cran-apple juice
11/2 envelopes Knox gelatin
1/3 cup Triple Sec

Sprinkle gelatin over juices and let sit 3 minutes. Heat on low until dissolved. Add boozes and chill.
